The sign says it all
We live in a vibrant neighborhood with kids everywhere! The kids have continued to make connections with kids in our neighborhood and have loved outside time with friends. Aly is able to go outside by herself this year as long as she's checking in about where I can find her. Just last weekend, she and some of the kids ventured into the woods. When I say woods, I mean the strip of wooded land that runs between our neighborhood and the neighborhood behind us. The kids get the sense of freedom and exploration, and we know they have some safe boundaries. They have been creating secret hideouts and homes in the woods.
The next series of pictures was taken by another mom.

Katy and Sarah in the Barbie car
There are several of these type of cars in the neighborhood and my kids go crazy for them... especially Evan. Evan has been known to slip away in search of the Barbie car.

The kids playing "science".
Aly has "done some science" with one of the 4th graders on the street. They were digging up rocks and then going to look them up to learn about them. Then Aly starting "doing science" with these guys. So "doing science" has become a favorite thing. This day, their version was playing ring-a-round-the-rosie.
