Aly's 6th Birthday!

Aly had her birthday party at an indoor sports complex.  They coordinated games for an hour and then we followed to the party room for pizza and cake.  Aly told the coordinator that she wanted to play soccer.  This proved to be a little challenging as 1) there were kids who had never played soccer, 2) kids this age who have played soccer are still figuring the game out, and 3) we had a range of ages with one older sibling and a few kids 1-3 years younger.   So the soccer game wrapped up and they moved on to a relay with the giant soccer balls.  And soon after that, free play seemed like a good idea.  But during the soccer game, Aly tried playing goalie and found that she really liked it and was pretty good at it too!

Katy was a little overwhelmed by all of the big kids.  But have no fear, big sister is here.

Aly and Chris head off for free play

The free play got a few dads in on the action.  Chris's dad had many of the school friends having a blast.  He would duck down in the balls, burst out, and then they'd all run to capture him again.

Greg, Mike, and Adam held down the other end of the field.
Evan was unfazed by a ball that was bigger than him, all the bigger kids, or being left alone on the field with the next birthday party of even bigger kids.  Oops!  Thanks to observant friends, all was well!  Lesson learned:  bring along a babysitter to watch/entertain the little ones!

On to pizza and cake!

A good time was had by all!

The party wrapped up with 10 tokens each  for the arcade.

Here's one happy 6 year old birthday girl!
