Martha's Vineyard

We spent last week on Martha's Vineyard with my parents, Nate, Cortney and Addy. We rented a house for the week and had a wonderful time. We all took our cars over on the ferry and that provided some chaos for the adults but the kids loved it! These ferry pictures aren't the best but they were the only ones I had. They loved being on the water, seeing the boats, and watching the birds fly along with us.

Katy and Addy really started to play together this trip. That was a shift from even just two months ago when we were in PA. Addy was sharing her snack. They had lots of fun with this tent. They played some hide and seek. I can't remember exactly what they were doing this day but there was a lot of giggling that was really fun to hear. Aly loved the beach. We went to three different beaches during the week. Two of them had shallow and calm water. The third (in the next picture) had some surf. That was pretty scary to her and she wanted to leave. But by the end of the day she had gone in with Greg and was cautious but not afraid anymore. She loved building castles, hunting for treasures, and going for beach walks.

Nate and Greg loved the rougher waters! I was the photographer for this trip but I was there ;) We had really mild weather all week except for one warmer day. So this was my one day of venturing into the water... at least up to my waist!

Addy really warmed up to the water too!!

Aly played miniature golf for the first time with Daddy, Uncle Nate, and Granddad.

Addy and Katy read with Grandmom Aly and Grandmom rest under one of the many tents built through the week. The younger girls had lots of fun playing in the tent too. They were running through the tent and playing peek a boo.

Our cooking adventure for the week was a clambake with sausage, potatoes, corn, mussels, clams, shrimp and lobster. It was very good though Nate enjoyed the mussels and clams more than anyone. The consensus leaned toward lobster with butter next time!

The girls enjoyed the kite too.
