Aly's first day of kindergarten

Aly had her first day of kindergarten Thursday! She rides the bus in the morning and we pick her up at lunch time. She was a mix of excited and nervous but she did great. Her teacher is Ms. Jenkins and she has one of her friends from preschool in her class and on her bus. At the bus stop. She's wearing her "Costco outfit" which is light blue and dark blue. She is no longer completely opposed to wearing any purple or pink. She just pretends they are dark blue or red. She is so excited by her light up shoes.

She was less than thrilled about her red back pack from last year as blue is her new favorite color. So she customized by taping on a Diego picture. She's wearing her new watch over her sweatshirt because she doesn't like it to be covered up. She got her watch and within and hour was telling time. We've been working on it some but there was nothing like a watch that she was really excited about for motivation. It's so fun to watch her personality develop. All the kids at the bus stop. Away she goes! Katy cried the minute she got on the bus. Now she says, "When I get big, I go kindergarten". I am the "newbie" at the bust stop and I felt all eyes on me to see my reaction. So I made it home before I cried. A few at the bus stop have since shared their stories with me. Friday was easier for everyone. All the nerves of the previous day were gone. After spending the first day with her old friend, she came home and said she made two new friends. I look forward to see what the year holds for her.
