Pool time and work time

This was Katy's first time in the pool since our March vacation in CA. We were in the pool in the morning and she wasn't such a fan but by the afternoon it was a different story. She loves the water! She loves it so much that at times she's fighting to get away from the parent that is holding her above water!

Aly is loving the water too this year. She started swimming lesson in the spring. Greg took her to the first lesson and said it was rather painful to watch. She refused to participate and sat on the steps for the whole lesson. Something clicked though by the second lesson and she was been loving it every since. She wanted to do more swimming lessons so will start again on Thursday. I'm not sure how much progress she's making on actually learning to swim but every week she seems more comfortable in the water and that's huge progress!!! She's even wanting to jump in the water now. The pictures here were taken at our friends house and their shallow end is shallow enough for her to stand and walk around. I think that's also been a huge confidence booster.

I don't think the next three pictures were 'work day' pictures but were cute anyway.

Our friends Chrissy and Mike had the thought to get together for some work days. Mike and Greg each had number of slow moving projects. And this way there would be two guys on the project and then Chrissy and I could hang out with the kids while they worked. When they came to our house the guys stained the swing set. Greg had power washed and sanded it beforehand. He really worked hard on it and it looks great.

After the work was finished it was time for some fun. Hmmm.... it looks like someone wasn't having much fun.

She was just making faces.... she had fun. Greg had gone after them with the hose.

But he was a good sport and let them retaliate... within reason ;)
